It sells a daytime reindeer journey of 2 to 3 km, a night ride with a hot drink and reindeer sausage by the fire, and a family snow day where you meet the reindeer without riding. All three include winter clothing and a transfer from the centre or Santa Claus Village if you need one.

On both rides the reindeer walk at a leisurely pace, and at night the guide steers the sleigh by walking alongside. If you are looking for speed, the reindeer are the wrong choice. The listings state that Apukka’s reindeer tours are certified under the Green Activities programme; our animal welfare page lists the questions worth asking any farm. The night ride is not suitable for children under three, and the transfer takes about 35 minutes each way.
The third Apukka tour is built for families rather than for the reindeer ride. Over five and a half hours, children and adults get a 500 m husky ride, time with the reindeer, snowshoes, cross-country skis and a toboggan hill.
